GATES, Tamara Jean (Nyman) – of Davison, MI, age 65, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2022 and 12-1 PM Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. A Memorial Service, conducted under the auspices of the Davison VFW Post 4087 Auxiliary, will be held 7 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Davison VFW Post 4087 of Davison MI, in Tamara’s memory.
Tamara was born in Flint, MI on November 13, 1957, daughter of the late Donald and Yvonne “Bonnie” (Sliger) Nyman. She married James Gates on September 24, 1992 in Lapeer, MI. Tamara retired from Genesys Hospital after 30 years of service. She was a member of Genesys Hospital Teamsters Local 332. Tamara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren, crafting, supporting her local Davison VFW Post 4087 and playing on her pool league.
Tamara is survived by her husband, James Gates; son, Nicholas (Nicole) Ireland; 3 grandchildren, Ian Ireland, Wesley Ireland and Cade Ireland; sister, Kimberly Spillers; many other loving family members and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Yvonne “Bonnie” Nyman; son, Anthony James Ireland; her sister, Robin Berkey, passed away on December 8, 2022 and brother-in-law, Rod Spillers.
