Dana Knapp passed away on November 7, 2021. She was 65.

Dana was born on August 14, 1956 to Daniel and Gloria Ruell. Throughout Dana's life, spreading joy and uplifting others was a common theme. From the way her laugh led others to laugh with her to her mentorship of a generation within the Millington Community through The Boy Scouts of America, Dana was driven to aid others, treating them with respect and in the spirit of equity.

Dana's recent accomplishments include returning to school late in life receiving degrees from Mott Community College and The University of Michigan - Flint (graduating from both with honors.) After this she followed her passion for compassion by starting a career in Social Work. All of this while remaining the heart, soul and center of a large dynamic family.

Dana is forever loved by her husband Paul, her seven children: Jason (Sonia) Knapp, Shaun Knapp, Garett (Deborah) Knapp, Evan Knapp, Ethan Knapp (girlfriend Kelsey), Devin Knapp, and Elizabeth Knapp. Her mom, Mrs. Gloria Ruell. Five grandchildren; Eric, Isabella, Alexandria, Zachary, and Maliah Ann-Rose. Sisters, Deborah (Jack) Gaffney, and Deanna (Steve), and brother Daniel (Jeff). As well as extended family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her dad Daniel Ruell.

The family would like to invite friends for a time of visiting to Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, Mi on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral for Dana will be at Hanlin Funeral Home on Monday, November 15, 2021 starting at 1:00 p.m. with a time of visiting beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
