YARBROUGH, TIMOTHY SCOTT “Tim”- Of Flint, age 63, died Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his residence under hospice care.
Funeral service will be at 11am on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Michigan.
Visitation will be from 2-8pm Monday, October 20, 2025, and 10am on Tuesday till the time of service.
Burial will be at 10am Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Timothy was born in Flint on March 27, 1962, the son of Lafayette Yarbrough and Rebecca (Warren) Blanchard.
Tim retired from the military and was very proud of his service. He was stationed in Germany and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
His biggest joy in life was his daughter Becca. All you had to do was ask about her and his face would light up and you could see and hear how proud he was of her. Although his last year was tough fighting cancer, the bright spot in it all is that he was able to spend a lot of time with Becca as she helped care for him.
Tim enjoyed deer hunting, video games, watching football, scuba diving, skiing, golfing and gardening.
He loved his “second family” which were his coworkers at U of M. Tim had a special place in his heart for his previous dog Daisy and currently Sheba who will miss him dearly.
Tim is survived by his parents, daughter Rebecca (Mitchell) Schmiedeknecht; siblings Shawn Diebold, Tina Yarbrough, Daniel (Tami) Blanchard, Mechelle Churchfield and Joe (Breanna) Yarbrough; nieces and nephews Summer (Jarod) Brown, Hailey Blanchard, Lucas Blanchard and Bradyn Churchfield.
He was preceded in death by several grandparents, aunts and uncles.
