GRIPENTROG, Barbara Jane - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, April 24 2021. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream of the funeral service can be viewed on Barbara's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Foundation.
Barbara was born September 24, 1938 in Flint, the daughter of Pete and Pearl Lee. She was a 1956 graduate of Flint Northern High School. She married Arlon Ross Gripentrog March 15, 1965 in Kankakee, IL and he preceded her in death July 26, 2015. Barbara had resided in Swartz Creek for the past 53 years, coming from Flint. She enjoyed china painting, rock painting, and crazy quilting.
Surviving are: her son, Todd Lee (Rebecca) Gripentrog of Burton; grandsons, Tyler Gripentrog of Grand Blanc and Bryan Cooper of Traverse City; step grandsons, Kent (Casey) Chateauvert of North Branch and Michael Chateauvert of Columbiaville; step great grandchildren, Gracie, Chase, and Haevyn; sister, Donna (Jim) Glynn of Davison; and several nieces and nephews.
