HAMILTON, Hedy E. – Of Burton, age 89, died Monday, August 23, 2021 at Ascension Providence Rochester.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Visitation 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Hedy was born in Kentucky on June 29, 1932, the daughter of
the late James and Essie (Carter) Slusher.
She married Benjamin Hamilton and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hamilton was an RN at Hurley Medical Center and Lapeer Hospital and owned her own assisted living, Hamilton Assisted Living.
She loved having fun, traveling and spending time with her girl friends.
She boated to Florida and traveled out West.
Surviving are children, Cornell Hamilton, Debra Barton and Sandy
(Robert) Scannell;
grandchildren, Tammy, Cornell Jr., Penny, Victoria, Lyman, Cherrie, Scott (Mary), David, Gary (Tamara) and Chad;
many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; son, Wayne; grandsons, Wayne, Allen and Benjamin; sister, Dorothy and brothers, Lee and JD.
