Barbara Ann Cramer, 69, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on September 5, 2026, in her home in Grand Blanc, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and close friends. Born in Flint, Michigan, Barb spent her life between Flint and Grand Blanc, the communities she called home.
Barb was the daughter of Curtis and Jean Cramer. She spent much of her career as a food services director, including many years at the Michigan School for the Deaf, where she was proud to learn and use sign language.
She brought that same strong work ethic and dedication to everyone she served throughout her career. Barb's true passion was her kids and grandkids. Her life was not without hardship, but through it all, she never stopped loving her children and grandchildren, and she showed them how to love others and how to be good people.
Barb was an amazing storyteller, and everyone who knew her loved to hear her stories. She was the family historian, holding onto memories and details others had long forgotten. She was direct and never afraid to tell you like it was, and her witty comebacks always kept everyone on their toes.
She had a sharp sense of humor and was an advocate, standing up for those who needed someone in their corner and always willing to help anyone in need, especially her friends and family. She was intelligent, persistent, and never afraid of hard work.
Barb loved to travel and never missed a chance to see live music. She was a devoted fan of crime documentaries, game shows, and court shows, especially Judge Judy, and even made an appearance on The Hot Bench. She was a huge Big Brother fan, and even in her final days, she was still excited to watch.
She loved to sew, enjoyed a good glass of Coca-Cola, and was famous for her beef stroganoff, a dish everyone in the family still talks about. Her competitive spirit led to many fun euchre and dice game nights, and she loved a good game of Scrabble too. She certainly did not like to lose at any of her favorite games.
Barb is survived by her two daughters, Brooke Morgan (Brendan Lauinger) and Rachel Bentley (Tonya Bentley). She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Maya Townsend, Stanley Bogasky, Gabriella Randall-Bentley and Jonah Randall-Bentley. She is also survived by her brother, Joe Cramer, her beloved grand-dog, Tucker Thomas, whom she loved and cared for all of his life (thus far), and many beloved family members and friends. We will all dearly miss her and never forget her.
Barb was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Cramer, and her sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Tom Derkits.
Funeral Arrangements
· Date: Monday, September 14, 2026
· Visitation (Family & Friends): 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Swartz Funeral Home, Mundy Township, MI
· Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Swartz Funeral Home, Mundy Township, MI
· Burial: Immediately following, at Crestwood Cemetery
· Celebration of Life: Open house, approximately 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., The Laundry Room, Fenton, MI
In lieu of traditional funeral attire, the family kindly asks that those attending visitation, the funeral service, or the celebration of life consider wearing bright colors instead of black, in honor of Barb's vibrant spirit.
