Raymond H. (Ray) Kinyon - of Linden, passed away at home on November 6, 2023 after a short illness. Born in Flint, MI September 29, 1948 the son of Harold S. and Irma Stout Kinyon. He resided in Linden his entire life. He was a 1967 graduate of Linden High School where he played football and was named All County and All State honorable mention. He also played at Olivet College. He retired from General Motors V-8 engine as a journeyman electrician after 37 years of service. He enjoyed downhill skiing and was a reluctant golf partner to his wife. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed monthly dinners with other members of the Class of 67. He liked to deer hunt but we all knew he just wanted to spend time in the woods with a good book. He was a voracious reader of anything and everything. He had a sarcastic side and enjoyed delivering zingers. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Christine; their daughter, Michelle and her husband Joe Colburn of Royal Oak; son, Christopher of Denver, CO; and brother, Ron (Jeanette) of Mesa AZ; sisters-in-law, Claudia (Wayne) Newton and Judy (Bruce) Fridline; brother-in-law, Daniel (Edna) Dean; step sister-in-law, Debbie (Vic) Washylashun. Many nieces and nephews along with friends of his children who he considered his own. Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Irma, his wife’s parents, William and Evangeline Dean. He was liked by all and loved by many. We will miss him.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, November 10, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM Thursday and from 10AM until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
