Haddad, Francis, of Flint Township, age 84, died Sunday, December 15, 2024, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Rd., Flint. Fr. Pierre Bassil will officiate. Entombment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Francis was born in Flint, Michigan on October 21, 1940, the son of Nicholas and Mary (Touma) Haddad. His mother was one of the survivors of the Titanic. Francis was raised in Flint, graduating from Flint Northern in 1958. He married Salwa Zerka on May 22, 1965, in Beirut, Lebanon. She preceded him death in 2015. Francis began work at an early age. He owned and operated the Hinky Dinky Market in Flint and later owned Palace Coney Island in the Genesee Valley Mall along with his son, Michael. Francis was a hard worker and had a strong work ethic and retired at 79 years old. He enjoyed gardening, watching movies, and enjoyed family vacations, especially to Disneyworld. Francis was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lebanon.
He is survived by his children, Susie and husband Peter Vergos, John and wife Reina Haddad, Dana and husband Bernard Herro, Michael Haddad. Francis was a beloved Jiddo to his grandchildren, Kosta, Francis (wife, Maria), Nicholas, Allison (fiancé, Russell), Marino, Carson, Rio, Selena, Duke, Lucas, and great grandson, Charlie. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry and wife Joan Haddad; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Pearl Attaway, Emma Haddad and brothers, William and wife June Haddad, Daniel and wife Marilyn Haddad.
