SHELTRAW, Mary Melvina – Of Burton, age 77, died Thursday, May 26, 2022 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Dave Boillat officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 11am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mary was born in Flint, Michigan on August 20, 1944, the daughter of Martin and Melvina (Neumann) Hieber and had been a resident of Burton with her husband Loren Charles Sheltraw Sr., of 30 years.
She was a 1962 graduate of Linden High School. She was a member of the First National Honor Society of Linden High School, played four years of Varsity Basketball and Softball while in school. On February 25, 1992 she married Loren C. Sheltraw, Sr. in Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and various in-state casinos with her husband Loren, playing Euchre, golf, crossword puzzles, bowling and playing Wii. Mary worked for the State of Michigan, Office of Retirement Services and Tour Guide at the Michigan State Capitol.
Surviving are husband, Loren Sheltraw,
sons Mickey (Tami) Bauchan and Matthew Bauchan,
granddaughters Taylor Bauchan and Bayley (Ryan) Cole and Carolanne Barr,
special step-children Karen (Phillip) Boillat, Kim (James) Ruzzin, Jeannie Whiteside, Jammie Whiteside and Cher’ie Fisher,
several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren,
sisters-in-law Nancy Hieber and Helen Sheltraw,
several nieces, nephews and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her son Mitchell Lynn Bauchan, granddaughter Michelle Bauchan, father and mother-in-law Lawrence and Evelyn Sheltraw Sr., brothers David and Paul Hieber, sister Martha Wheaton and brother-in-law Lawrence Sheltraw Jr., stepsons Loren Jr., Charlie and Shawn Sheltraw, and step-son-in-law Patrick Fisher.
