James Harold Lane, age 95, formerly of Davison passed away August 22, 2021. Jim was born
in 1926 in Jackson Michigan to Don and Grace (Parker) Lane. He moved to Clio as a young
child and graduated from Clio High School. He was inducted in the Navy at 18 and was
stationed in Japan while serving in World War II. He worked for General Motors where he had a
31-year career.
Jim often referred to meeting Ruth Wright as the best thing that ever happened
to him, and they were married on March 21,1959. Jim was a skilled woodworker and could often
be found in his shop building furniture and making projects with his grandchildren. After retiring he and
Ruth spent many winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. Jim loved to golf and spent many Monday afternoons on
the course with friends from Davison Free Methodist Church. Jim was an incredibly grateful
person and continued to have his quick wit and dry sense of humor through his final days. His
family was the light of his life, and he loved the time he was able to spend with them, especially
after losing Ruth, they will miss him terribly.
Jim is survived by daughters, Anne (Jerry) Schulze, Susan Howe, Hope (Riley) McLincha and
son Mark (Kay) Rainbolt, Eleven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth Lane, his sisters Barbara, Patricia, brother Richard
