PHEGLEY, James C. "Jim" - Of Grand Blanc, age 93, died Friday, September 30, 2022 at Ascension Genesys Hospital with his family by his side.
Visitation only will be held 12pm-4pm Sunday, October 2, 2022
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Interment in Perkins, Missouri at a later date.
Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or New Haven Baptist Church.
James was born in Perkins, Missouri on September 24, 1929. Jim married Norma Pettit on November 5, 1952 in Paragould, Arkansas. Jim proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church in Burton. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Virginian, winters in Florida and cherished time in the sun. Jim retired from General Motors SPO in Swartz Creek in 1991 after 40 plus years of service and was a member of UAW Local 659.
Surviving are wife of 70 years, Norma;
children, Greg (Ann) Phegley of Connecticut, Jeff (Patsy) Phegley of Boyne City, Marty (Krista) Phegley of Fenton and Tammy Sanders (Jerry Sanders - deceased) of New York;
grandchildren, Brian (Anne) Phegley, Rachel (Josh) Jackson, Kiel (Jami) Phegley, Mark (Naomi) Phegley, Kacey Phegley, Bailey Phegley, Clint Phegley; honorable grandson, Chris Scheel;
8 great-grandchildren;
brother, Billy Phegley;
and several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in law.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
