WAGNER, Donald A. – of Montrose, age 71, died on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Honoring his wishes, cremation will be taking place. Inurnment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at a later date.
Don was born September 25, 1949 in Clarion, Pennsylvania to the late John and Alyce (Klavon) Wagner. He graduated from Hill-McCloy High School in Montrose in 1967. Don married Linda Lewis in 1969 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Mr. Wagner is a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran. Throughout his time in the Army, Don received: The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal Purple Heart, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He retired from skilled trades at Buick with 38 ½ years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local # 599. Don was also a member of the American Legion Harry Baker Post # 367 of Montrose. He enjoyed working on antique cars and participating with Back to the Bricks.
Surviving are: Wife, Linda Wagner; Son, Jason (Sarah) Wagner; Daughter, Amanda (Bill) Gunn; Grandchildren: Alleghan and Remy Wagner, Billy and Alexander Gunn.
