WHITTIER, Matilda Rosemary – of Clio, age 75, died Friday, January 8, 2021 at her residence. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan.
Matilda was born May 15, 1945 in Neosho, Missouri to the late Roy and Ethel (Rye) Renner. She grew up in Chesaning, Michigan and attended New Lothrup School. On March 27, 1965 she married Orie “Bruce” Whittier in Chesaning, Michigan. Matilda enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was the neighborhood Grandma to all the children in the area.
Surviving are: Husband, Bruce Whittier; Children, Donald (Marilen) Whittier, Angela (Jeffrey) Cooper, David Whittier; Grandchildren, Amber Whittier, Meranda Brannan, Ellison Whittier, Dakota Whittier, Kayloni Whittier, Jozlen Gabera, Max Gabera; Siblings, Jean James, Bea Cline, Tommy (Gail) Renner, Sonny Renner; Sister in law, Delores Renner; Brother in law, Jerry Ostipow; several nieces and nephews.
