DAHLQUIST, William “Bill” – of Davison, age 75, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025 at Henry Ford Genesys – Grand Blanc. The family will welcome visitors from 4-7 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesee County Humane Society or Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, in William’s memory.
Bill was born in Flint, MI on March 5, 1949, son of the late William and Ruby (Culver) Dahlquist. He married Wendy Ann Gilson on October 10, 1981 in Davison, MI. Bill earned an associate’s degree from Lansing Community College. Bill began his career at AC Spark Plug in 1976 working as a draftsman and retired in 1997. He bought his first Corvette in 1982, from then on – he was hooked. Bill and Wendy joined the Corvette Club in the same year. The Club provided many functions as well as camaraderie. Bill was an avid Corvette enthusiast, mechanic, showman; known to most as “Mr. Corvette”. He owned 3 corvettes. He attended many shows, conventions, and caravaning around the country. Bill loved everything to learn about the automobile. He read many magazines. His memory for car facts from the magazines was impressive, as he could recite the facts from them. Bill loved baseball and could always find a good pick-up game in the summer. He helped kids learn the rules of baseball, and how it was played. It didn’t matter how well the kids played or how experienced they were: he taught them how to have fun. Bill volunteered to help mentor students with a program called HOSTS (Help One Student to Succeed). In addition to automobiles and baseball, Bill liked to ride motorcycles, golf, racquetball, and NFL football.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Wendy; sister Theresa (Les) Sepkowski; sister-in-law, Pam Snider; many nieces and nephews, friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruby Dahlquist; brothers, Bob Dahlquist and Don Dahlquist.
