Jannora Lauderdale was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 28, 1960, the third child of Lonnie and Tennessee Nelson. She married in 1984. Her son, Eric Lauderdale preceded her death in 2016. She earned a BA in Mathematics and MA in Curriculum & Instruction with an Administrative K-12 Certificate. She was an educator, assistant principal, principal, school superintendent, business owner, and published author. She was an active and beloved member of both sorority Zeta Phi Beta (joined March 19, 2016) and St. Peter C.M.E. Church where she was a missionary, President of the Mid-Michigan Missionary district as well as the church Missionary Chairperson for technology support and many other things.
Mrs. Jannora Lauderdale leaves to cherish her memory: 7 grandchildren, TyErika, Iysis, John, Erica, Monae, Za’meon and Neveah, goddaughter, Ilene Webb, godson, Areon Banks, 2 bothers, Elijah (Marie) Causey, RD (Sheila) Wright, 3 sisters, Cynthia Nelson, Lynn (James) Bett, Lorna (Lennard) Cossey, niece, Crystal Nelson, 6 nephews, Keith L. (Tiffany) Belvin, Lionel (JaNiece) Nelson Jr., Edward Betts, Andrew Betts, Daniel Betts, and Joshua Grant, sorority sisters, host of relatives, family, friends, Pastor Llewellyn V. Jones and First Lady Mable Jones, retired Pastor Diane Beverly and family, Principal Lillian “LB” and students from Northridge Academy.
