Dwain Ammerman, 85, of Flint, Michigan passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 11:00 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E Bristol Rd, Burton, MI 48529, with commitment services to follow at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc, MI. Visitation will be held immediately prior to the funeral mass from 10:30-11:00 am at Holy Redeemer. Fr. Carl Simon officiating. If you cannot join us in person, the funeral mass will be broadcast through Holy Redeemer’s You Tube channel. Dwain was born the son of Carl and Frances Ammerman in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Dwain was joined in marriage to Joanna Potopa, on May 28, 1955. They moved to Flint, Michigan where Dwain was schooled in the skilled trades at General Motors Institute, and took a position as a Tinsmith with General Motors V8 Engine Plant in Flint. He worked for GM for over 30 years. He and Joanna had three daughters and Joanna preceded him in death in 1983. Dwain was blessed to have met Marlene Inhulsen and the two were joined in marriage on Valentine’s Day, 1997 and they were married for 24 years. Dwain had a quiet personality with a witty sense of humor. He loved doing puzzle books, dancing, music, roller skating, and golfing. He enjoyed the time he spent both in his home in Flint and his winter home in Seminole, Florida. Dwain was a great listener and adviser and will long be remembered by all who knew him. Dwain is survived by wife Marlene, his daughters Christine (Bill) Pesel, Connie Kusza, and Cathy (Scott) Amore; and grandchildren Brent (Amanda) Pesel and Jake Kusza. He is also survived by his sister Joanne Landeck, several nieces and nephews, step-children Debbie Davis and Michael (Galina) Davis, step-grandchildren Kara Langenberg, Emily Davis, Michelle Davis, and six step-great grandchildren. Dwain was also preceded in death by his parents and eleven of his siblings.
