Donald Charles Mahl, age 86, of Burton, Michigan passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Donald was born on January 10, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frederick and Clara Mahl. Donald worked for the Red Cross of Flint, Michigan and retired after 30 years. Donald had a small family and many friend who became family. His friends included the Eagles, Church, Red Cross and the Senior Center just to name a few. All who knew him loved him. Donald also served as an Marine in the armed forces for 4 years, he received Honorary Discharge as Lance Corporal E-3. At the age of 76 he walked 10 miles in the Flint Crim Event and he also walked several times the Mackinac Bridge 5 miles Event that occurs on Labor Day. Donald enjoyed several fabulous trips to Alaska, Australia and New Zealand. He lived a good life and he was excited to fulfilled his dream of white water rafting in the Grand Canyon. Donald leaves to cherish his memory his niece; Clara Jimmerson, great nephew; Gerald (Laura) Jimmerson his family Oliver, Tristan and step-daughter Eliana, great niece; Shaunda( Kevin) Mankowski and daughter Clara June, Niece: Janet Blair and her daughter Lissa (Matt) Thompson, daughter Rylin, and cousin; Sharon Bubel who resides in St, Louis Mo. A Memorial Gathering for Donald will take place on Saturday January 27, 2024 at 11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30am at Hill Funeral Home 11723 S. Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439. |
