ERWAY, Nancy – of Montrose, formerly of Bentley, died peacefully Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at her residence. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial service will be held 1PM Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Nancy was born April 29, 1941, in Bentley, to the late William and Pauline (Eichman) Davis. She attended Standish-Sterling Community Schools where she received her high school diploma and was a proud stay-at-home mother for much of her life. On June 20, 1959, Nancy married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Erway, and together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Nancy was known to be quite the hidden jokester. From whip cream to the face, surprise water gun fights, and the occasional wedgie – she knew how to catch you off guard and keep a smile on your face. Nancy made the best deserts, especially pies, and enjoyed playing bingo from time to time. She knew no stranger and could start a conversation with anyone. If Nancy happened to befriend a child in the store, she would scrounge for a spare quarter so they could play the quarter machines. Nancy was a pure and generous woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to The Care Team Hospice for their professionalism and care during Nancy’s final days.
Nancy is forever loved by her loving husband, Robert Erway; Children: Pauline (Scott) Ogden, Kenneth (Julianne) Erway, and Robert (Raeann) Erway; Grandchildren: Jessica (Rich), Jennifer (Joe), Kayla (Matt), Kylee, Alex, and Robert (Kayla); Great Grandchildren: Noah, Isabella, Thomas, Savannah, Chloe, Dominic, and Grayson; Sister, Lucille Wilson; Sisters-in-law: Ruthann (Al) Schmidt and Rose Davis; Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers: Elmer and Rodger Davis; Grandson, Brett Pigott; Son, Baby Boy Erway; In-laws: Virgie (Rosco) Conklin, Margaret (Chick) Hutchinson, Ken Martin, Willard Erway, Idell Erway, Lyman Erway, and Ronald Wilson. |
