LOOMIS, Kenneth- of Birch Run, age 84, died Thursday, November 10, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral service will be held 11AM Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Burial at Cook Cemetery. Pastor Jim Reid officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 2PM until 7PM.
Kenneth was born September 3, 1938, in Mt. Morris, to the late Peter and Reatha (Mills) Loomis. He proudly served in the United States Navy and worked for General Motors as a line worker and forklift driver for 30 years. Kenneth was a member of the Bridgeport Gun Club. On August 25, 1967, Kenneth married the love of his life, Shirley Westphal, and together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. Kenneth enjoyed being outdoors fishing, camping, and shooting. He liked music so much that he taught himself to play the guitar, banjo, harmonica, and accordion. Kenneth loved his family dearly and always went out of his way for those he cared for. Above all, Kenneth was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Kenneth is forever loved by his wife, Shirley Loomis; Children: Betty Jean (John) Isaacs, Nancy Loomis, Linda (Patrick) Farley, and Peter Loomis; Grandchildren: Mandilee (Landon) Hecht and Heather (Frank) Knickerbocker; Great Grandson, John Wayne Hoornstra; Siblings: Evelyn Manry and Raymond (Renate) Loomis. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Reatha; Granddaughter, Amber Legue; Brothers, Jim and John Loomis; Brother-in-law, Paul Manry. |
