MOON, WILLIAM H. SR. – Of Swartz Creek, age 93, died Thursday, November 16, 2023 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023
St. Paul Lutheran Church 402 South Ballenger Highway in Flint

Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the family or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Visitation 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
William will be at the church 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.
William was born in Enid, Oklahoma on March 7, 1930.
He married Gloria Rettenmund on August 6, 1950 in Flint and she preceded him in death on December 22, 1999.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed hunting, gardening, loved his dogs and watching westerns.
Mr. Moon was employed by Buick Plant 36 for over 40 years.
Surviving are daughter, Candace (Jim) Carlson;
3 sons, Dr. William H. (Billy) D.D.S. (Vicky), Walter “Wally” (Kathy);
grandsons, Kristian, Rejean, Chris, Jason, Ryan, Kyle, Zachary and Clinton;
granddaughters, Corissa, Meghan and Madalyn;
9 great-grandchildren;
brothers-in-law, Marvin Rettenmund, Melvin and (Claire) Rettenmund;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Vance Moon; great-granddaughter, Hope Moon; siblings, Nova, Merlin, Lowell and Peter; numerous dogs.
