HILGENDORF, Suzette Marie (McLane) – of Davison, MI, age 58, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospital – Detroit. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 1PM Monday, July 17, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Outreach East, in Suzette’s memory.
Suzette Hilgendorf, beloved wife, daughter, and friend, was born in Flint, Michigan on May 19, 1965, daughter of Gerald and Lois (Carlos) McLane. Suzette had a fulfilling life and made countless memories with her loved ones. She graduated from Davison High School in 1983, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. On September 4, 1988, she married Mikel Hilgendorf, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love and companionship. Suzette was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where her faith provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life.
One of Suzette’s greatest joys in life was spending time with her friends and family. She had a warm and inviting personality, and her home was often filled with laughter and love. Suzette loved to host parties and gatherings, creating unforgettable moments and cherished memories for all those fortunate enough to attend.
In her leisure time, Suzette found peace and relaxation by floating in the pool. The water became her sanctuary, offering tranquility amidst the busyness of life. Her love for the pool reflected her vibrant spirit, as she always sought to find joy in the simplest of pleasures. She also loved spending time in Aruba on the beach.
Suzette will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her loving nature and generosity will forever be remembered and cherished.
Suzette is survived by her loving husband, Mike Hilgendorf; children, Lauren (Kody) Powell and Conner Hilgendorf; parents, Gerald and Lois McLane; sister, Annette (Scott Svoboda) McLane; nieces, Summer and Autumn McLane-Svoboda; mother-in-law, Hope Hilgendorf; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Suzanne (John Heald) Hilgendorf; father-in-law, Robert Hilgendorf.
