HAYNES, Clinton A. – of Mt. Morris, age 84, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, surrounded by family. Honoring his wishes, cremation will be taking place. A Celebration of Clinton’s Life will be held in the Spring of 2025 in North Carolina.
Clinton was born April 8, 1940, in Surry County, North Carolina, to the late Harvey and Samantha (Cheek) Haynes. He married Marilyn Haynes on February 2, 1968, and they enjoyed a life filled with love and many happy years together before her passing on December 10, 2009. For over 20 years, Clinton worked at General Motors Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing “Chevy in the Hole”. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn and loved mowing with his zero-turn mower. Clinton was a man of many talents—whether he was gardening, woodworking, welding, or tinkering with cars, he always found a way to keep himself moving. Though he was known for being quite stubborn at times, Clinton always had a smile on his face and a joke ready to share bringing joy to those around him. Above all, he always put his family first and loved his children and grandchildren fiercely.
Surviving are: Daughter, Pamela (James) Pieknik; Son, Rodney (Corena) Haynes; Grandchildren: Savannah (Skyler) Fike, Kayleigh Haynes, and Hayden Crawford; Great grandchildren: Lavender and Olive Fike; Bonus grandchildren: Jamie Pieknik, and Jared Pieknik; Special friends: Gordon and Beverly Kipp; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Clinton was also preceded in death by his 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. The family would like to extend a special thank you to McLaren Hospice for all their love and care and to Hart Medical Equipment.
