COURTS, Genevieve – of Burton, age 105, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at her home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be celebrated at a later time, when it is safe to gather.
Genevieve J. Yaklin was born in New Lothrop, MI on March 19, 1915, daughter of the late Wenz and Theresia (Henige) Yaklin. She married William E. Courts on June 20, 1933. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1982. Genevieve was a very strong woman. She was proud of being the oldest member at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. Genevieve was a wonderful caretaker of her home, but her proudest accomplishment was that of being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Genevieve is survived by her four children, Beverly Robinson, Gale (Glenda Ruth) Courts, David (Mary Joyce) Courts, Diane Morrison; several grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Genevieve was preceded in death by all of her siblings as well as two sons-in-law William Robinson and Gerald Morrison.
