VARNER, Marilyn J. – of Clio, age 81, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at her residence with family by her side. Private graveside services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 in Flint Memorial Park. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.
Marilyn was born April 1, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Lela (Brown) Luck. She married the love of her life, William D. Varner on January 24, 1959. Marilyn was the office clerk for Mansour’s Grocery for several years. She later worked for the State of Michigan – MESC and managed the unemployment office for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Auto City Eagles Aerie #3485. Marilyn loved sports, enjoyed bowling, and playing volleyball. She was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. Marilyn also enjoyed trips to the casino.
Surviving are: Husband, William Varner; Daughter, Tracy Diem; Granddaughter, Taylor (Brett) Beckley; 3 great grandchildren: Brayden, Brycen, and Brock; Brother, Orville Luck; Niece, Linda (Roger) McCarron; Sister in law, Joan Harrington.
