KOSAK, Justin Anthony “Jubbs” – of Royal Oak, formerly of Grand Blanc, age 26, died Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Rd, Flint, Pastor Dean Stewart officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers a scholarship fund is being set up in Justin’s name to annually award a college scholarship for a football or basketball player from Grand Blanc High School.
Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Friday March 11 and 10 am Saturday March 12 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Justin was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 18, 1995, the son of Jim and Becky (Speer) Kosak.
Justin moved to Grand Blanc when he was in kindergarten and spent his formative years in the Grand Blanc School System. In addition to video games, Justin loved sports. Growing up he tried about every sport, but his two favorites were football and basketball. He loved being a Grand Blanc Bobcat. Justin followed his sister and brother to become a Michigan State Spartan, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. In addition to his studies, Justin enjoyed IM Basketball and was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Justin was employed by United Wholesale Mortgage where in addition to his underwriting duties he enjoyed playing basketball with his co-workers.
Surviving are parents, Jim and Becky Kosak;
sister Kirstin (Jordan) Ballance;
brother, Collin Kosak;
grandmothers, Janet Kosak and Joanne Speer
aunts, Cheryl (Bob) Wilson, Lindy (Peter) Cubba, Barb (Jerry) Jenkins, Beth Thacker, Kim Kosak, Lori Speer and Christy (Mike) Rinkol;
many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather’s Anthony J. Kosak and Gene Speer and Cousin Jake Thacker.
