Thomas Dean LaLonde
Age 80, of Vestaburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alma.
Tom was born March 11, 1945, in Alma, the son of LeRoy “Roy” and Julia A. (Merritt) LaLonde. He graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1963. Tom served in the US Navy during Vietnam from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1967. He worked as a mason for many years before retiring. Tom married Connie Stockton on August 17, 2001. Tom and Connie lived in Bark River in the UP for 17 years before moving to Vestaburg.
He was a life member of the VFW. Tom was an avid fisherman and hunter. He entered and won many fishing tournaments. He enjoyed making his own flies and lures. He liked to work in his yard and be outdoors. Tom was a dog lover.
He is survived by his wife Connie LaLonde; children, Thom (Lannette) LaLonde, Annette LaLonde, Jason LaLonde; step-son Cameron Belyeu; four grandchildren, James II, Aeden, Shelby (Bodie), Corey; and five great grandchildren, Julieanne, Vincent, Dominic, Elenore, James III.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11 am at the Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma. Interment with military honors will be held in Pritchard Cemetery following the funeral service. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm and Monday from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
