BOLINGER, William Thomas – of National City, Michigan, age 84, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, Michigan 48423; Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 11 AM – 1 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers.
Will was born in Flint, Michigan on December 16, 1940, son of Glen and Isabelle (Kerr) Bolinger. He married Judith Herrick on May 8, 1964, in Flint. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer and later retired from AC Spark Plug after several years of dedicated service. Will was a diehard Lions fan—long before they were good. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he found joy in water skiing and speeding across the water in his boats. He loved a good party—the more, the merrier! Harvesting firewood with friends and family was one of his favorite activities, and he cherished his time at the cabin Up North where he retired and spent his happiest days. In his final years, his most peaceful moments were spent driving around with his beloved dog, Hunter.
William is survived by loving wife, Judith Bolinger; daughters: Vickie (Randy) Schlak and Julie (Jason) Erickson; grandchildren: Drew (Tricia) Schlak, Kurt Schlak, Ryan Schlak, Emma Erickson and Cailey Erickson; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his son, David Allen Bolinger.
