Douglas, James “Jim” – of Fenton, formerly of Birch Run, age 59, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at his residence with his wife and grandson by side. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Friday, October 6, 2023, from 6PM until 8PM and on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Jim was born April 12, 1964, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Duane and Laura (Markle) Douglas. He attended and graduated from Birch Run High School in 1982, the same year he graduated from West Wisconsin Tech Institute. Jim married his best friend Diane Quackenbush on August 18, 1994, they shared 29 wonderful years together. He worked as a millwright for local 1102 for 20 years, later he went to work for Chrysler as a journeyman for 10 years. James was an avid member of the Fenton Eagles Club # 2460. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ice fishing. Mostly spending time outdoors and enjoying nature. You could find Jim riding his Harley and going on road trips. His favorite place to be was on the lake or in the woods, cooking his own wild game. More than anything he had a huge heart and was extremely generous. Above all he was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by many.
Surviving are: Wife of 29 years, Diane Douglas; Daughters: Danielle (Brandon) Garske, and Terah (Timothy) Elliott; Grandsons: Jared Elliott, Justin Elliott, Grason Garske, and Sloan Garske; Brothers: Dennis (Jeffrey) Alderman, Doyle Douglas, Daniel Douglas, Keith (MaryKay) Hawes, and Paul (Victoria) Hawes; Brother-In-Laws: Chris Quackenbush, Gene (Christine) Quackenbush, and Timothy Quackenbush; Several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Glenn Alderman, and Duane Douglas, Sister, Laura Jean Lively. Please sign our guest book or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
