SWEENEY, Olga Sophia – Of Linden, formerly of Swartz Creek, age 95, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Symphony of Linden.
A funeral service will be held 11am Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI, Deacon Ron Kenney officiating.
Visitation 5-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Olga was born on October 28, 1929 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Kukin. She was married to Donald J. Sweeney on March 17, 1951. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1997.
Olga was a loving mother and enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. She loved playing cards, Scrabble, Bingo and get-togethers with her family. She also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Higgins Lake. After her husband’s death, she co-owned Hank and Don’s Bar in Swartz Creek.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Judy (Doug Frost) Diane (Mike Ross), Sharon (Garry Bradshaw), Marti (Duane Dimet), Linda (Tom Satchell;
6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren;
and sister, Violet Himich and family;
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Steve, and her sister, Martha.
