HOPPER, Thom Dennis Dr.– of Mt. Morris, age 73, died on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. Honoring his wishes, cremation will be taking place. Services will be held at 3PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Shawn Baptist Church - 2493 N. Genesee Rd., in Burton. Daniel Cocke officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 2PM until the time of service at 3PM. Dinner immediately following at the church.
Thom was born August 20, 1948, in Flint, Michigan to the late Leon and Kathren “Katie” (Hopkins) Hopper. He was a loving, caring, generous husband, father, uncle, and son in law. Thom lived his life to the fullest. There was no such thing as a dream to Thom, he made it a reality. He was a successful businessman, Doctor of Internal Medicine, Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, and professional golfer. Thom was also an airplane pilot, baritone singer in a gospel quartet, football player for the University of Illinois, and volunteered his time coaching junior golf.
Surviving are: Loving wife, Dana Whitehead-Hopper; Daughter, Tamala Warren; Brother, Steven D. (Dawn) Hopper; Uncle and golf partner, Phil Hopkins; Nieces and nephews: Elizabeth “Libby” Hopper, Macall (Michael) Doherty, Morgan (Dustin) Rhinebolt, Delana Whitehead, CPL Brandon Hampton, A1C Josh Pierson, and Matthew Hampton; Mother and father in law, Sue and Jesse Couch.
