FOX, Douglas Dorr – of Flint, MI, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and craftsmanship. Born on July 18, 1946, in Goodrich, Michigan, Douglas dedicated his life to his family and his passions. He was drafted and proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam. He spent many years working at General Motors before retiring, always taking great pride in his work and the friendships he made along the way. A man of generosity and warmth, Doug was known for his giving spirit, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His love for woodworking was more than just a hobby--it was a way to express his creativity and share his talents with others. Many family members and friends cherish the furniture, model cars, toys, and handcrafted gifts he made with skill and love. If you trusted Doug with a project, you were sure to receive a perfect product. Above all, Doug was a devoted family man. He met his perfect match later in life when he met his beloved wife, Linda.
He was the proud father to his two sons, Brien (Annette) and Eric as well as a caring stepfather to Karen (Michael) and Eric. He was a loving grandfather to Riley, Makenzie, Kyler, Brian, Tabitha, Sydni and great-grandfather to Aubree. He is also survived by his brother, Dale (Terry) his mother in law, Jennette, and his sister-in-law, Brenda and several nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Leona, his father, Dorr Fox and his, sister Betty.
His wisdom, humor, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
A Celebration of Doug’s Life, with Military Honors, will be held 1 PM Friday, March 7, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. E. Enwood Nevis officiating. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Friday, March 7, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 450 Wilson Road, Otisville, MI 48463 or a charity of one’s choice, in Doug’s honor.
His family and friends take comfort in knowing that his legacy of kindness and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
