BARBIER, Shirley Marie (Wyckoff) - Age 94, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Regency of Grand Blanc. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. A visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 7 and again from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Thursday. Private burial will take place in Highland Cemetery, Gladwin. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warriors Project.
Shirley was born on May 23, 1929 in Flint, the daughter of the late William H. and Beulah (Snover) Wyckoff. She graduated salutatorian from Harrison High School, class of 1947. Shirley worked at Fair Department Store for 20 years and she worked for Avon for 30 years all before her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and Gardening, flowers and bird watching.
She is survived by her loving children, Sandra (Ronald) Wiens of Palmetto, Florida, Jacqueline Kakstis of Flint, Richard (Kimberly) Barbier of Flint and Steven Barbier of Flushing; grandchildren, Samantha Wiens-Wice (Brian), Jessica Kakstis (Kevin Angers), Ashley (Mike) Bondarenko, Colton Barbier and Dakota Barbier; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Bella Mae, Seraphina Faye and Rylie Jade; sisters, Vicki Waldeck and Nancy Mawhorter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Barbier; sister, Norma Rea; brother-in-law, Ralph Rea; brother, William R. Wyckoff; and brother-in-law, George Waldeck. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com |
