DAVIS, Edith J. “Edie” – of Mt. Morris, age 73, passed away Friday February 5, 2021 at her residence, with her family by her side. Family will receive visitors on Wednesday February 10, 2021 from 10 AM until 1:30 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Funeral service and burial at Flint Memorial Park will be private. Following Covid 19 and government regulations, only 25 people are allowed in our chapel at one time and masks are required. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Edie was born October 29, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to the late Russell and Dorothy (Boucher) Mills. She was raised in the Clio area and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1966. On August 22, 1969 she married Stephen Davis at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris; he sadly passed on April 30, 2013. Edie was a Bus Aide for the Genesee School District and retired after 31 years of faithful service. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. She loved dancing any time she could. She liked to bowl, roller skating, going up north to the family cabin in Oscoda and baking, especially during the Christmas season. She also enjoyed watching her students play in any Genesee High School Athletic event, Tiger Baseball and MSU Football. But most of all she cherished the time she could spend with her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Kirk (Stephanie) Davis of Mt. Morris and Kimberley (Eric) Hays of New Castle, Indiana; Grandchildren: A. J. Yager, Morgan Davis, Kirissa Hays, Travis Hays, Kurtis Hays, Kaden Hays and Emiliee Hays; Brother: Art Mills of Indian River. Edie was preceded in death by her husband Stephen, parents Russell and Dorothy, brother James Mills and sister in law Lela Mills.
