MARTIN, Yvonne Marie (Hunt), age 82, of Flint Township, died November 25, 2021, at 1:41 AM.
On Friday, December 3rd, the family will receive visitors from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Michigan. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 4th, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Easter Seals in honor of her son, John Martin.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Yvonne was born on October 28, 1939, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Harry and Evelyn (Giguere) Hunt. She was a 1957 graduate of R.N. Mandeville High School. After closing her business as the “Crafty Lady,” she worked for Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Michigan, retiring after 24 ½ years. Yvonne worked hard all her life, especially to maintain a positive outlook while overcoming many of life’s obstacles. Surviving are the loves of her life, her four children; John Martin of Davison, Denise Hodgkinson of North Carolina, Amy Reed formerly of California, and Beth (Brian) Simpson of Georgia. Grandchildren Tara and Kayla of North Carolina, Evelyn, Gabriel, and two step-grandchildren Timothy and Aaron of Georgia. Family and special friends will greatly miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents, family members, and close friends: Mary Stanfill, Linda Stanke, Nancy Castle, Shireen Woodruff (cousin), and many more.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Wellbridge of Grand Blanc staff and friends for caring for Yvonne, and the nurses at Beaumont Taylor Hospital (emergency department), especially Abby R.N. and Adam R.N for their service and end-of-life compassionate care.
