Scott was born in Flint, Michigan on May 22, 1962, to Geraldine (Davidek) and Robert Benedict. He was a 1980 Flushing High School graduate. Scott then studied electronics and became an Electrician Apprentice shortly after graduation. He worked as a Licensed Electrician for numerous contractors and businesses in the Flint area throughout his career. He was highly regarded for his work ethic, skills, and knowledge in electronics. He dabbled in everything from radio and television repair to collaboration in practical applications of ferrofluids. He retired from the electrical profession in 2014.

Scott will always be remembered by all who knew him as humble, caring, generous, and helpful son, brother, uncle, and friend. His time away from work was spent helping family, friends, and anyone in need with construction and electrical projects. He worked with his uncles in the Steve Davidek Painting & Decorating Business, where he gained valuable additional skills. He impressively applied these skills in the construction of his own home. He loved lending his construction, mechanical, plumbing, painting, and electrical skills whenever possible. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his faithful canine companions, Rocky and Beebe.

Scott is survived by his mother, Geraldine Benedict and her companion, Robert Hoffman of Flushing Michigan; sister, Susan Garrity and former husband Douglas Garrity of Poughkeepsie, New York; brothers, Michael Benedict and wife Pamela of Flint, Matthew Benedict and companion Jeanine Pettit of Flint, Christopher Benedict and wife Michele of Flushing, Patrick Benedict and wife Mary of Brighton. Scott enjoyed the loving company of his nieces and nephews Abbie, Anna, Olivia, Ian, Randi, Adrian, Mandy, Camden and Luke, and great-nieces, Kennedy, Avery, and Ramona. They all loved his sense of humor and mischievous nature. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
