GREENING, Ilene Marie (Diller) – of Flint, MI, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on a later date at Trinity Assembly of God, 4363 West Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, MI 48458. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Angelic Heart Home Care and Hospice of Davison, MI, the Alzheimer’s Association or Trinity Assembly of God, in Ilene’s memory.
Ilene was born in Otter Lake, MI on June 22, 1937 daughter of the late Frank and Iva (VanWickle) Diller. She retired from First Presbyterian Church in Flint, MI after 25 years of service. After retirement, Ilene continued volunteering at Trinity Assembly of God where she was also a member. Her faith was very strong, and she trusted in the Lord to guide her through her life. Ilene was always helping others, giving to numerous charities and through her work as a counselor and Prayer Warrior until she was no longer able. She also enjoyed puzzles, reading and spending time with her family and dear friends.
Ilene is survived by 3 children, Barbara (Fred) Tereau, Michele (Kevin) Geary and Frederick (Dee) Greening; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, David Diller; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Iva Diller; grandson, Alec Geary; 3 brothers, Frank Diller, Bill Diller and Paul Diller; 4 sisters-in-law, Pat Diller, Norma Diller, Eileen Diller and Dottie Diller.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all those who have helped us during this time especially her granddaughters, Nicole Bowden and Jennifer Koos, and her caregiver, Rhonda Fowlkes, who will always be in our hearts. The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to Ilene’s caregivers, Debbie, Melissa, Jill and Michelle and Angelic Heart Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate and professional care of Ilene.
