BENMARK, Susan Karen – of Flint, MI, age 64, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church, 4040 Lapeer Road, Burton, MI 48509; Pastor Susan Lidums officiating. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-2 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church.
Susan was born in Flint, MI on June 25, 1958, daughter of Margo (Rumer) Benmark and the late Stanley Benmark. In June 1980, Susan and her husband, James Curt Young, were the first couple married at Stepping Stone Falls in Flint, MI. She enjoyed riding horses, playing guitar and flute, backpacking in her younger years and spending time with her family and friends.
Susan is survived by 4 children, Gabriella Young, Neil Young, James (Taryn) Young and Sherwood Benmark; 3 grandchildren, Maikayla (Zach) Josling, Lacey Young and Riley Young; mother, Margo Benmark; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Benmark; brother, Stanley Benmark II and uncle, Edward Rumer.
