Warren J. Newton Sr. 89, went to be with his Lord on December 18, 2010. He was born to Eugene and Helen Mae (Winover) Newton August 9, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio. Warren graduated from Genoa High School in 1938.
He married Ila Calkins March 19, 1946 at Whitehouse, Ohio. He was a member of the Neapolis Church of Christ.
Warren was a WW II veteran receiving the Purple Heart.
He worked at Willys Overland and American Motors Corp. retiring in 1978. Warren and Ila built several houses. He also served on staff at Christian Retreat in Minnesota for several years. Warren and Ila were missionaries to China, Russia, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico and other countries. He also served at (I.S.O.H) International Services of Hope, Waterville, OH.
Warren was preceded in death by his wife Ila and a daughter Helen Mae and one grandson Donald Cosentino, Two brothers Robert & Gordon and one sister Margaret Harri.
Surviving children are Carolyn (Vernon) Cosentino, Warren J. (Brenda) Newton Jr., Cheryl(Larry) Crosby, Eugene (Sharon) Newton, 8 Grand Children, 7 Great Grand Children and on sister Jean Herman.
Family and friends may visit at Peinert Funeral Home 6603 Providence Whitehouse, Ohio on Tuesday December 21, 2010 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neapolis Church of Christ with interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Grand Rapids, OH.. Pastor Tom Bates will officiate.
