MORRIS, GLADYS MAE - Of Flint, age 92, died Friday, July 14, 2023 at Cranberry Park Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Mr. Paul Holland officiating.
Visitation 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2023 at the funeral home.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Gladys was born in LePanto, Arkansas on January 27, 1931, the daughter of the late William and Fannie (McGarity) Morgan.
On October 12, 1974 she married William Morris at Grand Blanc Church of Christ and they had been married for 45 years and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2020.
She was a member of Swartz Creek Church of Christ and a lifelong member of The Church of Christ. She loved crocheting, sewing, making candy and sending cards. She volunteered at McLaren Hospital Gift Shop. Gladys also enjoyed wintering in Florida.
Gladys retired from Genesee County District Court and after retirement she went to work for the Mt. Morris Township Police Department Chief.
Surviving are son, Michael Sale;
daughters, Brenda (Ron) Taylor and Elaine Henderson and fiance James Evans;
step-son, William R. Morris;
10 grandchildren, Tonya Amaya, Tina Davis, Leslie Sale Baker, Teresa Quinn, Bob Zirnhelt, Brad Zirnhelt, Crystal Charvat, Dr. Curtis Henderson,
Ryan Sale, Stephen Sale;
3 step-grandchildren, Tom Garty, Steve Garty and Stacy Garty;
many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Bill Sale and Terry Sale; step-daughter, Sandi Smith.
