RICHARDSON, Melba E. Of Flint, age 87. Our dear friend and loved one, Melba, passed away 12/10/13 at her home. Melba was born in Flint, Michigan 7/28/1927 to Amaker and Alta Tankersley. Melba was pre-deceased by her parents, her beloved husband Earl, her brother Corkey, nephew William and Uncle Virgil (and many other aunts & uncles). Melba retired from General Motors. She is a long time and avid golfer belonging to several leagues and developing many enduring friendships. She was an active member of the South Baptist Church. Melba leaves to cherish her memory family including: Diane, Paula, Dennis, Jim, Gordon, Linda, Paul, Brad, Craig, Rick, Brad, Jr., Namon, Raechel, Amber, and Wanda and other nieces and cousins. Close friends include: Glenna and Bob, Teresa, Betty, Josephine, and Carol. Her life will be celebrated Saturday 12/21/13 at 1 pm at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, with a visitation from 11-1 just prior to the service. Service will be lead by Pastor Scott Snyder. She will be laid to rest at Crestwood Cemetery reunited with her beloved Earl. Friends are invited to join for a meal at the church directly after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Baptist Church-4081 VanSlyke Road, Genesee County Humane Society, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Shriners’ Hospitals for Children or The Salvation Army. |
