Scully, Richard – of Mt. Morris, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 11AM until 8PM and on Wednesday from noon till time of service.
Richard was born May 4, 1940, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Charles and Lena Scully. Richard married the love of his life Joyce (Webster) Freeland on March 7, 1969. He was a veteran for the United States Marines. He retired from Buick after 36 years. Richard loved fishing, especially on Lake Missaukee. He enjoyed visiting the casino and spending time with his family. Richard was very creative with woodworking, making many beautiful things over the years. Most of all he was a great husband, dad and grandpa who will be missed by many.
Surviving are: Wife of 53 years, Joyce Scully; Children: Michael (Stephanie) Scully, Dawn Shimmons, Steven (Kelly) Freeland, Matthew Freeland, and Lisa (Eric) Wylie; Richard was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; Sister, Penny (Dave) Clark. He is preceded in death by parents, Charles Scully and Lena (Thomas) Yachovitz, son, Robert Paul “Bobby” Scully, sister, Barbara Kieffer..
