Died: 3/22/2021
Age: 92
Community: Millington, MI

Helen E. (White) Taylor passed away shortly after 2 a.m. with family by her side on Monday, March 22, 2021, after a several year battle with Alzheimer's. Helen was born on Monday, April 30, 1928 in Flint, Michigan to Myron and Daisy (Wines) White. Helen was a 1946 graduate of Flint Northern High School.

Helen married her husband, Kenneth C. Taylor, on July 23, 1946 and they celebrated over 53 years of marriage before he preceded her in death. Helen was employed by General Motors at AC Spark Plug making spark plugs for over 30 years until her retirement in 1981. Shortly after, she, Ken, and their youngest son moved to Higgins Lake where Helen was active in Alanon, Tops, and Good Shepherd United Methodist Church with the puppet program. Helen returned to the Clio area later in life as her Alzheimer's began to affect her life.

Helen is survived by her sons, Kenny (Sue) Taylor of The Villages, Florida and Mathew (Laurie) Taylor of Millington, Michigan. She also has 9 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter-in-laws, Debbie Taylor of Marion, Illinois and Diane Taylor of Clio, Michigan. Helen has one remaining sister, JoAnn Hohenstein, and sister-in-law, Rose White, along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Carol Jean Taylor and son’s: Baby Boy Taylor, Loren Taylor and Kevin Taylor, along with granddaughter, Cynthia Taylor and great grandson, Devin Leonard.

The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Woods Manor in Clio for the loving care that they have shown Helen in the years that she lived there. The stories they tell of her wittiness, jokes, and conversations when she was talkative brought many smiles in her final days. The love of the staff was evident in the interactions they had with family. She received the best possible care from them and for that we are eternally grateful.

A short celebration of her life and internment of her ashes will take place on her birthday, Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Flushing City Cemetery, Flushing, MI at 2:00 p.m..
