Phoebe E. Mercer Aubin, 90, a resident of Lapeer, passed away February 7, 2015. She was born in Harrietta, MI on February 27, 1924 to Clyde and Martha Mercer. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Richard Aubin; her four sons, Bernard (Kay) McInnes, Hugh (Sharon) McInnes, Leland (Sheila) McInnes and Damon (Mary) McInnes; grandchildren, Lisa, Anthony, Heather, Julie, Christopher, Laura, Benjamin, Adam, Madeline, Elenore and Heather; one great grandchild, Katie; brother Ernest (Nancy) Mercer; sister Kathleen (Wade) Durham; sister-in-law Twila Mercer; also several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Martha Mercer; brother Hurley Mercer and sister Delores (Ora) Fitch.
Phoebe enjoyed spending her time tending to her flower garden and traveling the countryside with her husband. Before her health declined, she was active in the Seven Ponds Nature Center -Horticulture Club, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and Oregon United Methodist Church. She loved Horses, butterflies and purple flowers, especially Orchids. Phoebe had a deep love for her family and will be deeply missed by many.
Friends may visit on Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel. Pastor Grant Lobb will be officiating. Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary are greatly appreciated.
