Boone, Brandon E. SSG – of Grand Blanc, formerly of Montrose, age 27, died Thursday, May 4, 2017. The family will receive visitors at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Monday, May 15, 2017, from 2-8 PM. A private funeral service will be held Tuesday. Burial to follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Amanda Boone.
Brandon was born April 29, 1990, in Flint, Michigan to Charles and Tammy (Smith) Boone. He graduated from Hill – McCloy High School in 2008. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in 2016. Brandon also served a Tour of Duty in Afghanistan. He married Amanda Atkinson May 17, 2013. Brandon was employed as an apprentice at Kent Power Inc. of Grand Rapids. He was a multi-sport athlete invloved in high school football, wrestling and weightlifting. He was also a member of the UM – Flint football team. He enjoyed skeet shooting, furniture refinishing, construction, and horseshoes.
Surviving are: Wife, Amanda; Daughter, Kaylinn; Parents: Charles (Barbara) Boone and Tammy Boone (John Lester); Brother, Robert Reed; 3 sisters: Candace Lester, Krystal (Jimmy) Ralston, and Chevelle Boone; Papa, Charles Boone; Mother and Father in Law, Dennice and James Atkinson; Nieces: Lilyana and Keelee; Nephews: Jason and Harlon; Brandon was preceded in death by his grandma, Carol Boone and his twin brother, Bradley on March 5, 2017.
