Hugh E. Garland, age 90, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 starting at 4:00 PM until 8:00PM at Sharp Funeral Home in Swartz Creek. Visitation will resume on Friday at 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service. Interment will be held at Bendle Cemetery in Clayton Township.
Hugh was born on April 20, 1932 to the late James (Lily) Garland in Williamsburg, Kentucky. He loved all things outdoors but especially enjoyed hunting. His most cherished memories were those spent with his family. He was employed with General Motors for 31years before retiring in 1986.
Hugh is survived by three children, Mark (Shelly) Garland, Lori (Mark) Liberty and Linda (Michael) Molpus; his six grandchildren, Robin, Holly, Jody, Cassie, Amber and Blake; eight great-grandchildren and many other dear family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Hugh was preceded in death by his son, Randy and several siblings.
