Janice Mae Andersen of Lansing formerly of Flint, age 68, died Saturday December 15, 2018 at her residence. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday January 5, 2019 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Family will receive visitors from 11:00 am Saturday until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions in Janice’s memory to the Shiawassee County Humane Society.
Janice was born in Fillmore, New York on January 15, 1950 the daughter of Arthur & Carol (Johnson) Andersen and had resided in the Flint area in her early years relocating to the Lansing Michigan. She was a graduate of Flint Northern Class of 1968, and graduated from Michigan State University in 1972. She had taught fifth and sixth grade science and math at Durand Community Schools for over ten years. She then was employed by Michigan State University until her retirement.
She is survived by her mother Carol Andersen, sisters; Amy (Roger) Savage, Nancy (Pat) Abeare, and brother Daniel (Amour) Andersen. She also leaves a host of extended family and friends.
