BROWN, Richard L.S. "Dick" - Age 85, of Fenton, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (The service will be lived streamed and can be viewed via Dick's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet, 13575 Fenton Road, Fenton, MI 48430.
Dick was born December 7, 1939 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Alton and Louella (Warner) Brown. He was a graduate of Lindbergh High School in St. Louis, MO. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, MO. He married Jane Ann Root November 1963 and she preceded him in death January 29, 1987; he then married Sharon Lee Nicholas August 21, 1987 in Fenton and she preceded him in death July 8, 2024. Dick retired from General Motors as a Mechanical Engineer in the Flint area. He was a founding member and past president of Lake Fenton Property Owners Association, the Michigan Lakes and Streams Association and a founding member of the Michigan Waterfront Alliance.
Surviving are: his son, Kurtis L.V. (Marlena) Brown of Flint; stepdaughter, Karla (Matt) Crawford of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Andrew (Olivia) Brown of Detroit and Matthew Brown of Chicago; great granddaughter, Lucy Brown; and 5 step grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Louella Brown; son, Boyd T.S. Brown; and brother, Robert Brown. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
