PADGETT, BRISTER LEE “B” – Age 87, died Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI
Born in Black Mountain, North Carolina on December 22, 1932 to Foster Eugene and Hazel (Brister) Padgett. He was raised in Asheville, NC.
He graduated from Lee Edwards High School in Asheville.
After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he moved to Flint, MI. He continued his education, where he met and married Jolene Leemon on February 22, 1958.
He settled in Flint, where he worked as an engineer for Buick Motor Division; during which time he took a position working for General Motors in Mexico City from 1972-1976. He returned for Flint, retired from Buick and continued with consulting work.
He was involved with the Flint community and was a member of the Flint Landlords Association.
His passion was for his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Jolene (Leemon) Padgett; his daughters, Maurine Deering and partner Rick D’Aigle and Susie Padgett;
his son, Ronald and wife Rebeca Padgett;
grandchildren, Dana and wife Kristy Dumont, Jodi and husband Tyson Saunders,
Daniel Padgett and Miriam, Renae Padgett and Jennifer Olmos;
great-grandchildren, Grace, Andrew and Layla Saunders;
sister, Mary Jo (Padgett) Brezny;
brother, Roy Andrew and wife Bibby Padgett;
many nieces, nephews and special ones, Lisa and Terry.
He was preceded in death by sister, Hazel (Brister) Robinson; brothers, Foster Eugene Padgett and James Meredith Padgett.
