Age 75 of Goodrich Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2023 after a long battle with vascular dementia. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Mark’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
Born in Pontiac Michigan on May 29, 1948, son of the late Clarence & Loretta Lundgren. Mark graduated from Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School in Waterford Michigan in 1966. Mark was an amazing self taught musician & could play any instrument, he had a beautiful voice. He loved his classic Rock & Roll and his Harley Davidson.
He played in several bands including,The Coronado’s, The Mark V & Sidewinder. After Sidewinder he continued on his own & played with several retired musicians. Mark was the music coordinator at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Goodrich Michigan for 30 years. He then moved on to St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Ortonville Michigan for 5 years as a musician. He also played many funeral’s, weddings, parties, etc. through the years for close friends & family.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Ilene (Punk) , daughters, Stephie (Joe) Sabo, Beth (Jon) Lawniczak, as well as his beloved granddaughters, Anna, Abby & Nina. We would also like to mention the love & wonderful friendship he had with his sister in law Arlene (Cook) & his brother in law Steve (Chumley) Spratt, so many great times with them both. He is also survived by his brother Charlie Lundgren Jr. & numerous nieces & nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Loretta Lundgren, his sisters Ruth (Roy) Butler, Carol (Ron) West. His loving niece & nephew Theresa & Steve.
Mark will be missed dearly by all his family, friends & his pets Layla & Lucy. Rest Well Mark, You Are Healed.
Visitation will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Davison Michigan on Friday, December 8th, 2023, from 12 noon-1pm. Celebration of life will follow with mass at 1p. A luncheon will be held immediately after mass till 5:00 pm, at MD’S Sports Tavern & Grill – 3040 N. State Rd Davison Michigan.
