MURPHY, Robert Jr. “Bob” – of Clio, formerly of Flint, age 73, died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in Grand Blanc. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Carol J. Freeland officiant. Burial at Davison Cemetery to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 11AM until 8PM and Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service.
Bob was born April 26, 1951, in Flint, to the late Robert and Alta (Hudson) Murphy, Sr. He received his high school diploma from Southwestern Academy in Flint with the class of 1969 and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Bob proudly retired out of General Motors Truck and Bus after 42 years of employment. On January 24, 1970, he married his best friend, Karen Martin, and together they shared 54 years of marriage. Bob was an incredibly kind, generous man who enjoyed being outdoors hunting or fishing. He loved his family and was his grandkid’s biggest fan at every one of their sporting events. Bob truly cherished every moment spent with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. He was a special man who can never be replaced and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Robert is forever remembered by: Wife, Karen Murphy; Children: Julie (Eric Davis) and Jason (Lindy) Murphy; Grandchildren: Aidan Barnes, Dylan Murphy, and Taryn Murphy; Siblings: Patricia Murphy, Mary Murphy, and James (Gaby) Murphy; Brothers and Sisters-in-Laws: Matt (Terri) Martin, Crista (Jeff) Thompson, Kathy (Eric) Kincaid, Kevin (Deb) Martin, and Sandy (Kevin) VanSickle; Longtime Friends, Lyle and Patty Kittle. Robert was preceded in death by: Parents, Robert and Alta; Grandson, Corbin Filpansick. |
